I once heard a statement that indicated “diversity is being invited to the party and inclusion is being asked to dance”, but what happens when I want to plan the party?? This workshop will highlight the issues around tokenism and encourage staff/leadership to evaluate the ways white supremacy culture shows up in their organizations.  Participants will be challenged to dismantle the systems of white supremacy in order to transform and move towards liberation.

Course Objectives

  • Confront your own biases and explore how these biases perpetuate the dominant narrative and maintain the status quo
  • Understand how white supremacy culture operates and manifests and develop strategies to disrupt and dismantle
  • Articulate the difference between not-racist and antiracist and accept individual and organizational accountability for interrupting microaggressions
  • Utilize a Racial Equity Lens to create next steps towards transformation
